Welcome to a rollicking, informative occasionally fun and usually substantive dissection of all the things that occupy most of my attention: TV, media, journalism stuff, racial issues, social justice, pop culture, music, comic book culture, superheroes and more.
I know. It’s a lot. But it also means I’m always trying to explore something interesting in this space which doesn’t fit into my work as a critic for NPR, a journalism professor at Washington and Lee University, a guest interviewer for KCRW’s show The Business or freelance work writing for the New York Times, POLITICO, Emmy magazine and more.

Subscribe to get instant emails when I post something and to join a community of smart, involved people focused on how a changing media ecology affects us all. Right now, there are no plans to create subscriber-only content, so any paid subscriptions would just be a gift to show appreciation for the effort required to create this content. And it would be much appreciated.

If The Muppets can be down with me, what’s holding you back? LOL.
