Some places it was hard to tell if the streets had been abandoned or if this was Katrina damage. I met an unhoused woman one day who was asking for money. I gave what cash I had (not much) and said something offering regrets about Covid. "Every day is a pandemic," she said.
Yet again, Eric Deggans confronts a national issue and points out that merely agreeing the matter exists is not the same as working to solve it, nor to help its victims.
